Since it came off of the assembly line nearly 20 years ago, Amtrak P42DC locomotive #73 from General Electric has put in hundreds of thousands of miles across the U.S.A., transported tens of thousands of passengers and has been in the company of thousands of other locomotives. Today, however, the 73 sits all alone at Harrisburg, Pa. Terminal, cooling its heels, patiently waiting for its next call of duty.
