Alabama Railroad (ALAB)
The Alabama Railroad (ALAB) is a Class 3 Shortline which operates approximately 48 miles of track between Flomaton and Peterman, Alabama. Its headquarters are in Monroeville, Alabama and its owned and operated by Pioneer Railcorp of Peoria, Illinois. It connects with CSX at Flomaton and serves three industries in Monroeville where it also stores railcars for other railroads. The ALAB serves Temple Inland with outbound shipments of particle board and veneer, a cement powder transload operated by Gate Precast, and Harrigan Lumber. The railroad operates on a bi-weekly basis with its three EMD GP20 locomotives.
