Farmrail System, Inc. is the employee-owned holding company for two Class 3 shortline railroads that make up the “Western Oklahoma’s Regional Railroad” which is based in Clinton, Oklahoma. Since 1981 the Farmrail Corporation (FMRC) has been acting as the lessee-operator for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation and managing its 82-mile east-west line between Weatherford and Erick plus an additional 89 miles, Westhom-Elmer, that was acquired by the State in 1992. The other wholly owned affiliate, Grainbelt Corporation (GNBC), was formed in 1987 to buy 176 contiguous north-south route-miles that connected Enid and Frederick.
