Iowa, Chicago & Eastern (ICE)
The Iowa, Chicago and Eastern Railroad (ICE) was a Class II railroad based in Davenport, Iowa that served Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Minnesota and Wisconsin. It’s now controlled by the Canadian Pacific Railway and has been operated as part of its system since October 30, 2008.
The ICE was created by the purchase of I&M Rail Link and began operations on July 30, 2002. By the time it and sister line Dakota, Minnesota & Eastern were absorbed into CP, the 1,400-mile line made up the biggest Class 2 system in America.
