Valdosta Southern Railroad (VSO)
The Valdosta Railway (VR) is a Class 3 shortline railroad in Georgia that connects Clyattville, Georgia to the CSX and NS at Valdosta. It began life as the Florida Midland and Georgia Railroad who built the line somewhere in the 1880s or 90s. The Valdosta Southern Railroad (VSO) was incorporated in August 1951 and bought the portion from Valdosta south to Madison, Florida. Later the Georgia and Florida Railroad operated the line and planned to abandon the Valdosta to Madison portion. Instead the line was cut back to Clyattville in March of 1972 and in 1992 the new Valdosta Railway took over operations. In 2005 the Valdosta Railway was acquired by Genesee & Wyoming. This faded boxcar has since since been sold off and patched for the H&S Railroad (HS), itself now a G&W subsidiary.
