78 Heavily Loaded Cars From Taylor Yard

On October 14, 2019 (Columbus Day) Delaware Lackawanna Train DL-3 brought up a whopping 78 loaded cars from Taylor Yard.. To maintain the tonnage D-L enlisted 3 of their now 5 big six-axle Alcos plus an additional 2 four-axles.. In the last 2 or 3 years the D-L train length and tonnages have been on par with that of neighbor Norfolk Southern.. Most of D-L’s revenue is from grain and sand with lumber and plastics making up a sizable part.
